SST wins Middle East Rail Award 2012 for "Most Innovative Use of Technology"
After winning the award for the “Best Service Provider of the Rail Industry 2011”, this is already the 2nd prize voestalpine VAE was able to achieve for its leading and outstanding position in its industry segment.
The Awards ceremony in Fort Island at the centre of the Madinat Arena complex in Dubai is to celebrate companies and individuals who have demonstrated an unparalleled ability to succeed and continually set standards of excellence.
The annual event, running in parallel with the Middle East Rail Conference and Exhibition is the largest dedicated rail event in the region. The Awards reward companies that have done something truly exceptional. Nominees were selected by an independent judging panel of international and regional industry specialists. voestalpine VAE GmbH was nominated in the category “Most Innovative Use of Technology” for the Harsh Environment Package for the PHOENIX MB Combined Hot Box and Hot Wheel Detector of its affiliated company SST Signal & System Technik GmbH. SST adopted its premium product to enable the deployment of the system in areas with desert condition; specifically the Saudi Arabian desert with extreme heat and sand. This convinced the judging panel to identify the voestalpine VAE group as the industry’s leading innovator who has creatively integrated new technologies against Alstom, Expandium, Huawei, Rail Runner South Africa and Talgo. This award is again a big honour for voestalpine VAE and an additional motivation to strive for further customer benefit and satisfaction.
